About

I have an MSc in Computer Science, with eight years of experience in internet development. I specialised in internationalization, and multi-lingual content management. Much of my work has been in a LAMP environment, using XML to structure information, and XSLT to transform it into whichever format best suited the user’s needs. During this period I advised companies on their online marketing strategies, and was an independent consultant to the International Atomic Energy Agency.

I also have an MBA; I opted not to specialize, and took the General Management route. This allowed me to take a broad view, and opened more options. Post-MBA, as well as working as a trainer, I’ve conducted in-company needs analysis, and implemented an internal knowledge-sharing solution based on wikis and blogs. I look at a company’s ability to generate discussion, and to participate - both inside and outside of the company itself.

I’ve written policy papers on technology and macroeconomics for think tanks, and have had several articles published. I was elected to my local community council, and served for several years until the pressures of setting up my own business required me to step down.

I have experience as a tutor career management for mid-level executives in multinational companies, and as a lecturer in tertiary education.

When it comes to looking at the world and cultural intelligence, I have working experience in Wales, France, Portugal, Denmark, Bulgaria, Belgium, Greece, Lesotho, South Africa, Argentina, Republic of Korea, Singapore, and the People’s Republic of China.

I’m a student of Chinese philosophy. Five years of working in Asia -not to mention business studies at China’s top university, Tsinghua, and Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University - have given me plenty of hands-on Asian business experience to keep my feet firmly on the ground, though.
